Bali in Cologne

my favourite place for asian food in Cologne. Super tasty curries and main dishes the steamed fish is absolutely delish as is the black chicken, I also love all the appetizers and snacks, lovingly served and decorated - the atmosphere is great too and they've quickly reacted to the pandemic offering eco friendly take-out packaging and service. Really love this place #supportyourlocal

It was delicious! The collection was very uncomplicated and even if you order on site, you don't have to wait long. Everything was even packaged plastic-free! I very much hope that the Corona bar survives! We will be back definitely :)

Very tasty food. With the current Corona measures, we were able to collect the food quickly and easily. There is also an eclectic selection for vegans. We will come back in any case!

Always excellent

There was a problem with our reservation that supposedly did not take place. At first it was assumed that we did not make a reservation, which fortunately was resolved. Food was great!

I didn't know anything about Indonesian food and I'm absolutely thrilled. Really good food in a very pleasant atmosphere with quiet chillout music in the background. I found very large portions, but very moderate prices and impeccable service! I was definitely not there the last time! 👌👍

The first and unfortunately also the last time there. - the reservation system is a disaster (My tip to switch to a digital system) - Despite reservation, other guests who came after us were given priority. According to the waiter: That was decided by my superior, I pointed it out but unfortunately I can't do anything about it - after half an hour in the rain there was only one table for 4 people although we had reserved for 5 - the table was only set for one person & on request shortly before dinner, the others too - The lamp above the table was broken and so it was darker than it was otherwise - The starter was forgotten - the waiters seemed overwhelmed + stylish and a nice atmosphere + it took a while but there was good food + per person there was a drink on the house as an excuse Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcome and Cologne has better to offer.

A very nice little restaurant where you can sit outside. The menu is very diverse and you can find some things that you don't know from the commonplace Asians. The staff was super friendly and attentive and our dishes came very quickly and were very tasty.

Very nice location, the food is delicious, but not outstanding for the money. There are cheaper restaurants that are just as good or better. The service was much more modest. The staff were very nice, but waiting 10 minutes until you were assigned a seat (despite a reservation), then 50 minutes for the first drink and 70 minutes for the starter, which was no longer really warm, and first the main course Getting a reservation after almost 2 hours was pretty ugly. When it was noticed that the waiting times were really unreasonable, they apologized very nicely and said that the kitchen was a bit too small for so many people and that there wasn't enough staff today. A price compromise or a free drink was also not a small gesture. You just ask yourself why you don't offer 10 tables less to ensure reasonable service. Too bad. The next time I will go to eat somewhere else.

Very disappointing! The price is not at all appropriate with the dishes. You could find the same food at other Asian restaurants with good prices. The rice wasn't even cooked through! That was honest for the last time anyway! I wouldn't recommend any more.

Food was so well ... we missed the fresh kitchen with herbs and refined spices. But the location is very nice :-)

Food was okay, but not a big highlight. It just tasted pretty much like soy sauce and quite expensive too. Unfortunately, the waiting time is just catastrophic. 50 minutes for drinks and more than an hour for food. The service seemed very overwhelmed. Wouldn't want to eat here again anyway.

Unfortunately we can't really rate this restaurant. Lt. Google should have it open today so we called. There was a tape announcement asking you to leave your number for reservations so that you would be called back immediately. Which still didn't happen after 45 minutes. When we finally got there, the restaurant was closed, no note on the door, nothing. A shame ... Because according to various platforms it should be THE best Balinese in Cologne. In the future we will only go to our Balinese again.

The good: delicious food at good prices and cozy furnishings The bad: Waited 10 minutes until we got a card Waited 30 minutes until we were allowed to order Waited 10 minutes for drinks Overall, our stay lasted over 2 hours. This is not acceptable especially since we only saw 4 occupied tables (25 of them maybe) when we arrived. The male staff was utter chaos and it got better when the lady started working For us this means that we will not go to Bali again, VERY Pity

Nice ambience in a nice restaurant, in the middle of the trendy Belgian quarter, with good but not outstanding food. Unfortunately, contemporary payment is not possible, only unsanitary CASH is accepted. An absolute no-go in 2020 and not hospitable! It is actually incredible that something like this still exists today!

Very tasty Indonesian food with a great atmosphere. Since we were there right at the opening time at 6pm, we got the food relatively quickly. The dishes are medium price range but really delicious and plentiful. We sat outside in the middle of the city in the green and enjoyed our stay very much. I had the impression that with only two conditions the service did not quite meet. We had to wait about 35 minutes for the dessert. All in all 5 stars, since only cash payment, one star deduction. But we still like to come back.

The food was super tasty and the price-performance ratio is fully okay. Unfortunately, it got quite loud when the place filled up. In addition, the tables are so close together that you can hear every conversation from the next table - whether you like it or not.

Better than in Bali itself!

We (2 couples) were there in a busy summer evening on Friday night, reserved a table inside beforehand, which was needed. Upon arrival, the man who looked like the head staff (Asian older guy) seemed very stressful and clearly could not handle many requests properly at the same time. He made us wait for our table and even forgot us totally. Finally we got our table when we approached a female staff. Drinks and appetizers arrived in a timely manner, considering the busy time. But.......we had to wait the full 2.5 hours for our main dishes. The staff informed us before in the evening that the food could arrive a bit later as the kitchen was very busy, but come on......2.5 hours waiting time is certainly unacceptable! We arrived at 20:15 and left around 23:00, as the latest customers. The staff apologized politely though for this long delay. The food was average Indonesian food. The curry tasted bland and far from spicy Indonesian curry with extensive spices, but the veggies were fresh. The staff was polite and nice during our dinner. Though upon leaving (we were the latest customers there), nobody even looked at us. I don't know if they did this because they felt ashamed of their extraordinarily slow kitchen or if they were too busy closing the restaurant, but it didn't feel good and is not polite. You can only pay with cash here. But they informed us about this correctly at the reservation. I find that the prices of the dishes are too high for such an average quality. Will we go back there? Certainly not, as long as they haven't improved their management. The food is also too average for the price. Not worth it, certainly if you have to spend the entire evening for your dinner! There are better Indonesian restaurant(s) in Cologne.

Very bad service...

After living in Indonesia for almost a year, I was very impressed with the food here at Bali. The selection was very good and they even had Bintang. Looks like they had to adapt a few things to make sure it appealed to the German market (pork in Indonesia?!) But overall, it was a nice experience with some upscaled Indonesian food.

Best Indonesian food in town!

Nice, warm atmosphere. Dark, with candle light. Ideal for a romantic dinner. Reasonable prices. Both chicken and spicy beef soup was delicious. Fish with coco-lemon sauce was just perfect. Rich exotic flavor. Loved it. Kind staff.

Pretty dark Restaurant with gorgeous food. Totally recommended.

Used to be really good. But since a couple of month it became rather disappointing... The terrace offers a nice view of the brusseler square, and the inside is quite cozy. Booking recommend.

Good food, good service. The surrounding area is also quite nice with people enjoying themselves in the park with games and a few beers.

I've been here several times, and I love it. It's really great for a romantic date or just drinks out with the ladies.
